What
should you expect on your first visit? Generally we follow this
protocol (please allow an hour on your first visit):
-
Intake
form: If you have not already downloaded it from this
website and filled it out ahead of time, you will be given our
intake form to fill out in our reception area. Once that
is complete and you are entered into our computer system, you
will be shown to an exam room.
-
History:
The doctor will ask you several questions about your present
condition and others relating to it. These questions can
get quite detailed as it will guide where and what to look for
during the exam process.
-
Exam:
Next, a physical, chiropractic, and neurological exam will
take place. Depending on the answers to the questions in the
history of your present condition, the doctor may concentrate
more in one of these areas to gain further knowledge.
-
X-Ray:
Typically our patients are x-rayed in our office. We like to
take minimal x-rays of the neck (cervical) area as well as the
low back (lumbar) area to look for abnormalities, trauma, or
pathology. These may help determine what adjustment
techniques to use as well as what levels to adjust (or not
adjust). Further x-rays may be required depending on the
situation.
-
Adjustment:
Depending on the case, an adjustment may be performed.
Your
second visit will consist of a "Report of Findings".
This will be a meeting between you and the doctor to discuss what
was discovered in the processes during your first visit. You
will be given a folder with information regarding your
situation. Next, treatment options will be discussed. After
that, several health care plans will be shown to you that are
personalized for your specific case. Then you will begin
your treatment/adjustments.
